What happens if I delete a units base rate?

Importance of Base Rates in Aloha for OTA Connections

It is crucial to remember that base rates are the foundation of all connections or mappings between Aloha and OTAs (Booking, Expedia, Airbnb, etc.). Without a specific base rate for an OTA, no smart rules will be applied or reflected on the connected platform.

Here are the necessary steps to create a new base rate and, if needed, safely remove the old one.

Steps to Change a Base Rate

  1. Create the New Base Rate

  • First, create the new base rate in Aloha by going to the Base Rates section in the Prices Tab, click Add Base Rate and complete the pop up box accordingly.

  1. Check the Mapping of the Old base rate

  • Before deleting the old base rate in Aloha, it is essential to verify that it is not mapped to any channel in the channel manager.
  • Go to the Actions menu in the existing rate plan and select Edit.

  1. Remove the Old base rate’s Mapping

  • Once in the Mapping section, locate the old rate plan and click the trash bin icon to remove it from active connections.

  1. Connect the new base rate

  • Finally, associate the new base rate with the desired channel, ensuring that all details are correctly configured and ready to be reflected on the OTAs.
