How do I connect to my VRBO account?
VRBO Account Verification
Before proceeding with the connection, ensure that your VRBO account is not linked to any previous management software via an API. If your account was previously connected to a PMS using the XML API, you will see a message indicating this connection.
Note: The property owner or manager must contact VRBO support to revert the account to a normal state (without a channel manager). Attempting to connect while still linked to previous software may cause problems.
Instructions for Disconnecting a Previous Channel Manager
If you need to disconnect your VRBO account from a previous channel manager, simply follow these instructions:
- Contact VRBO support and request:
"Please disconnect my account from my current channel manager; I will control the extranet manually."
How to Connect AlohaPro with VRBO
To proceed with the connection, you will need to have the following property details on hand:
- VRBO username
- VRBO Password
- Login code, which will be sent to the owner's phone when you try to connect.
Go to the left sidebar menu and select "Channel Manager" and then "Channels". Create a new channel.
- Credential Entry: Enter your VRBO username and password in the fields provided in AlohaPro.
- Authentication: Press the authentication button (avoid using the connection test button).
- Login Code: Enter the code sent to the owner's phone in the corresponding field.
- Update: If the connection is not established at this point, save the channel and refresh your browser.
- Confirmation: If everything is working correctly, you should see the available listings on the mapping page. If not, please contact our support team.
Property Mapping in AlohaPro
Once the VRBO account is connected, the next step is to map the properties. If the pop-up window closed, select "Actions" in the channel, then "Edit," and go to "Mapping."
- List Display: The mapping page in Aloha will display all available property lists to connect to.
- Room and Rate Mapping: Select a room and rate to map them to the lists you want to connect.
- Channel Activation: After completing the mapping, activate the channel to finalize the connection.
Once you've configured the three points in Listing, save the changes. The pop-up window will close, and you need to activate the channel in Actions 🔽 and select activate.
After this entire procedure, we must perform 3 actions, which are only done once, only when we connect and map the channel for the first time:
- Full synchronization: Select Actions 🔽 again and the menu will open. Click on Full Synchronization and then OK
- To extract future bookings: Select Actions again 🔽 and the menu will open. Click on Extract future bookings and then OK.

By following these steps, you can keep your properties synchronized and up-to-date in VRBO through AlohaPro, allowing you to manage your bookings and rates efficiently and without complications.
Common Problems and Incidents
Although most connections are made without problems, there are some common issues:
- Automatic Channel Disconnection: Sometimes, the channel disconnects automatically. This usually happens when the user has changed their password in VRBO. If this occurs, you will receive an email notification.
Functionalities Supported in the Connection with VRBO
Our system currently supports the following features when connecting to VRBO:
- ARI Update: This includes Availability, Rates, and Restrictions.
- Booking Reception: You can receive new, modified, and canceled bookings directly in AlohaPro.
Features Not Yet Supported
It is important to mention that we currently do not support the following features in the VRBO integration:
- Messages: Messaging functionality is not supported at this time.
- Reviews: It is also not possible to manage reviews through this integration.
