Acceptable Identification Documents by Country

Acceptable identification documents vary by country. A passport scan for identity verification is always preferred and, in some cases, is required. When a Stripe account and an individual associated with that Stripe account (for example, Business Representative, Owner) are from different countries, Stripe only accepts a passport to verify identity.

Acceptable forms of identification:

• Passport
• Driver's license – scans of both front and back are required
• National ID – scans of both front and back are required
• ID card – scans of both front and back are required
• Resident Permit – scans of both front and back are required

Required information:

• Full legal name that matches the name in your Stripe profile
• Date of birth (DOB) that matches what’s in your Stripe profile
• Photo of person (except where exclusions apply)
