Acceptable Documents for Identity, Address, and Legal Entity Verification in Nicaragua


  1. Document Format:


  • Copies and scans must be in PDF format and taken directly from the original document.
  • Photos of physical documents must be original and unprocessed in JPEG or PNG format.
  • Screenshots are not allowed.
  • For documents with required information on the back side, include the image of the back using the document_back parameter if submitting via the API.
  1. Image Quality:


  • Photos and scans of Photo IDs must be in color.
  • Photos of paper documents must be colorful, but scans (other than Photo IDs) may be black and white.
  • Documents must be clear, legible, and not low-quality.
  • Ensure the documents are not cropped, and all borders must be visible.
  1. Document Validity:


  • All documents must be current and unexpired.
  • Documents must be complete, including all necessary pages.
  1. Special Case:


  • If the country of residence differs from the country of the account, a passport is required.




Accepted Documents in Nicaragua


  1. Proof of Identity:


  • Cédula de Identidad (Nicaraguan National ID) or Passport.
  • Nicaraguan citizens are encouraged to use their Cédula de Identidad as the primary document.
  1. Proof of Address:


  • Utility bills (electricity, water, gas), bank statements, or government-issued letters.
  • The address must align with the one on the Stripe account.
  1. Proof of Legal Entity:


  • RUC (Registro Único de Contribuyentes) or Certificate of Incorporation.
  • These documents should show the entity's official name and country of registration.
