Guide to registering in the SIRE
Use this guide to register your properties on the SIRE migration platform for Colombia. Beforehand, consider these recommendations:
- You'll need a SIRE account for each property you manage, regardless of whether they're located at the same address or have the same RNT.
- If you manage the entire building where all the properties are located, then you can request a single account for the entire building.
1- Enter the link https://apps.migracioncolombia.gov.co/sire/public/login.jsf and select the option Registro de Persona que Reporta o Persona Jurídica.
2- Check the accommodation option in the Report Type section:
3- Now select the type of person.
- If the property owner is a natural person, select "Natural Person with Commercial Activity." You'll need a Tax Identification Number (RUT) to create your account.
- If you operate a business, then select legal entity.
4- Now fill in all the personal or company information depending on the type of person you selected.
In this example, we explain the information you need to add if you select the natural person with commercial activity option:
- NIT: Add your RUT number (Normally your ID number)
- Verification digit: The number next to your ID in the RUT.
- Commercial registration (Optional): The number of the chamber of commerce if you have one.
- Economic Activity: You can select Accommodation (55) or Short-stay accommodation activities.
- Company name: Add the building name and apartment number. If it's a house, add Vacation Rental House + Address.
- Legal representative's name: Your full names as they appear on your RUT and/or Chamber of Commerce.
- Business Group, Consortium, Association: Leave empty
- Nature: Private
- Start of operations: The date you started operations.
5- Now you must attach the supporting documents for your application. PDF only.
For individuals with commercial activity, you must select the Legal Representative's Identification Document option and then add a copy of your Taxpayer Identification Number (RUT). If you add your ID, your application will not be approved. It must be your Taxpayer Identification Number (RUT) and in PDF format.
If you have a chamber of commerce, attach it as well by selecting Business Registration and then clicking Add.
6- The next step is to enter the property's location. Please be very precise and match the information in the RNT.
7- Now enter the information of the person responsible for preparing the report. This would be the information of the person who will be responsible for accessing the platform to oversee the uploading of the reports.
8- Finally enter the security text:
If you manage multiple properties consider this:
If you manage the entire building, you could use a single SIRE record to report all guests. If the properties are in different locations, you'll need a separate SIRE code for each property.
For this, we recommend the following:
- Complete the first registration for property #1 by following this guide.
- To register the second property, when you write the RUT number, add the number 2 at the beginning.
- Then repeat these steps until you have completed the required number of properties. The platform administrators will identify that you are the same person and create your SIRE accounts.
